How the scheme works

Although the scheme can be used flexibly, this is how we’d suggest it is used:

Step 1 - Informal reading tests are used to evaluate pupils’ reading needs.
	Step 2 - Pupils’ reading targets are set.
Step 3 - The teacher leads pupils through the Pupil’s Book.

	Step 4 - Pupils apply their new skills in reading groups, using the Reading Books.

Step 5 - Pupils are retested using informal reading tests to check progress.
